Shallow puddles are all that remain from the previous nights drizzle, briefly satiating the thirsty Ethiopian landscape. Disregarding the hazards of standing water, local villagers rush to gather drinking water, wash clothes and bathe. This season usually brings daily downpours, but this year only saw five rainfalls.
